What the **** did I just hear coming out from my sons cute little speaker? If you don’t find ways to oversee what your children are listening to then you could be exposing them to all kinds of crazy explicit language. One way to shield them is to create clean playlists for them to listen to in iTunes.
If you have any apple products such as a Mac computer, iPhone or Apple watch you can make clean playlists in iTunes on your phone or computer. Even it you don’t have any Apple devices you can still use iTunes on any PC .
This is one in a series of posts explaining how to make sure (as best you can) that your kids aren’t exposed to explicit language while listening to music.
Keep in mind that you can only add songs to a playlist that you’ve already purchased. To avoid songs with profanity look for the E in the red square next to the song.
Here’s How To Make a Playlist On Your iPhone
- In iTunes on the bottom of the screen click library
- Click Playlists
- Click New Playlist
- Give it a Playlist Name
- Add a description
- Click Add Music
- Add songs or albums in your library
- Keep adding until you’re done
Here’s How To Do It On Your Computer
- Open iTunes
- Go to your library and look for your song or album by Artist, Album, Songs, Genre or Downloaded
- Highlight the song you want to add to your playlist
- Click on the three dots
- Click add to playlist
- New playlist will then appear, click
- On the left side of the screen your new playlist will be listed under music playlists waiting for you to give it a name
- To add the next song click on the three dots next to the song and instead of adding to a new playlist it will give you the option to add the song to the playlist you just made
- Rinse and repeat
